Welcome to the Battle Ground Education Foundation!

The Battle Ground Education Foundation has supported the students and schools of Battle Ground Public Schools since 1994. Thanks to the efforts of countless volunteers and the faithful support of our community, as of today we have provided over half a million dollars in assistance and supplies. The success of our annual fundraising events, grants, and your generous donations have allowed us to continue meeting the needs of our students through a global pandemic and an economic downturn. We are passionate about and remain actively invested in a bright and productive future for all Battle Ground students. ♥

Thank you to our Presenting Sponsor!

Our 2022-23 Accomplishments At A Glance:

Dollars provided for Grants for Principals

Students supplied with fully stocked backpacks

First graders given books & hats to celebrate Dr. Seuss & reading

How we have supported students, schools, and the community.

Kids in Need Fund:

Healthcare and education-based needs continued to come in even as students were doing school at home. The need for medical and mental health services were a large part of the needs, but we also helped students with fees and getting their driver training course to have that much needed license.

Technology:

Technology is a cornerstone of modern education; without it, today’s students are at a tremendous disadvantage. The foundation was able to secure a $20,000 grant from the Honorable Frank L. and Arlene G. Price Foundation to purchase Chromebooks and licenses.

Read Across America Event:

To celebrate reading and Dr. Seuss’s birthday, we partner with Battle Ground Kiwanis and IQ Credit Union to give every first grader a cherished book and Cat-in-the-Hat hat.

Backpack Program:

For many families, getting school supplies each year is a financial burden. That’s why hundreds of backpacks with school supplies are prepared and distributed each year!

Family and Community Resource Center:

We continued, and increased, our support for our Family and Community Resource Center (FCRC), and secured a COVID grant that helped 28 families stay in their homes or find new living quarters. We also partnered with IQ Credit Union and KGW for the Winter toy drive to make sure hundreds of students had holiday gifts that they would not have had otherwise.

Libraries and Arts Programs:

Access to information and expertise is a critical component in students’ educational journeys. Thanks to our generous supporters, we are delighted to complete the third year of this program by donating funds to our high schools and alternative schools to expand their libraries and arts materials. All other schools in the district received funding in the previous two years.

Farmers to Families:

We stepped up as the non-profit sponsor of the Farmers to Families Program for our community during the pandemic. Led by Scott Keller and an inspiring team of volunteers, 45,000 boxes of food (over 1,000,000 meals!) were distributed between September and May of 2020. The Foundation stands ready to step in whenever an emergency arises for our students.

Stuff the Bus:

Sponsored by the Foundation, hosted by Walmart and Fred Meyer in Battle Ground, and supported by the Battle Ground Public Schools transportation company and community volunteers, Stuff the Bus is traditionally held on the third Saturday in August. A crucial part of our Back Pack Program, during a four-hour window these store partners offer shoppers lists of needed school supplies for them to purchase and donate. This effort ensures all students have the supplies they need to begin the new school year.
