BGEF NEWS: End of Year 2021

As we close out 2021, we would be remiss if we did not tell you how grateful we are for your support of the foundation. The season of thanksgiving and gift giving causes us to pause and look back over the past year and reflect on where we were a year ago.

Although 2021 has been another very difficult year, you, our partners, have continued to be with us as we supported the students and schools of the Battle Ground Public Schools. Because of the support of so many, we were able to increase our support during a time when the needs have been great.

What Your Volunteer and Financial Support Helped Us Accomplish

We continued to sponsor the Farmers to Families Program which started in September of 2020. By the end, in May of 2021, over 43,000 boxes of food had been provided to our local families. This required thousands of volunteer hours!

Completed Our Third Year of Grants for the school libraries and arts programs & provided over 700 Backpacks with School Supplies.

Continued our Kids In Need Program which helps students with access to medical, dental, vision, mental health needs, participate in activities and other needs to help them be successful in school.

Supporting All Students to Receive Their Diplomas: Increased our support of the Family and Community Resource Center which helps our students and their families meet housing insecurity, have gifts for the holidays, find access to jobs, student mentoring and much more. This team of amazing people, both employees and volunteers, are truly making a difference in the lives of so many!

Partnered with BG Kiwanis and IQ Credit Union to provide all first graders with books and hats to celebrate Dr. Seuss’s birthday and reading literacy.
