BGeF is honored to announce the Prairie High School Grace Wetter $5,000 scholarship. The application deadline for Prairie seniors is Friday, April 18.
A 1951 graduate of Battle Ground High School herself, Grace Wetter dedicated her entire career to Battle Ground Public Schools. She spent 20 years at BGHS as a health & PE teacher and school counselor and another 12 years as a school counselor at Prairie High School. In fact she was part of the staff that helped fling those PHS doors open back in 1979!
Today her wonderful legacy continues: of her 12 children, 25 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild, many attended and/or are currently attending Battle Ground public schools. One of her daughters is even on staff at Prairie as a school counselor.
It’s our honor as the Battle Ground Education Foundation to help administer this scholarship, funded by Grace Wetter’s estate. Ms. Wetter made a difference every day in the lives of students even beyond her office, cheering them on at games and band concerts, or chaperoning events. This kind of investment in Battle Ground students is exactly what BGeF is all about, and it’s our great privilege to help preserve her legacy for a new generation of students.
The scholarship application is due by April 18. Find application details here. And share this opportunity with every graduating PHS senior you know!
